The Unknown Passage/Dead Tymes

The Unknown Passage were a greek garage/psych/surf band from Amindeo, Florina. They started in the late-90's and, while they had only one official release, they performed numerous times all over northern Greece. In 2008, two Unknown Passage members (Kostas Hatzis and Manos Hatzitrifonos) created the side-project Dead Tymes, and under this name they self-produced and self-recorded one album.

Dread Astaire

Sonically striking, hard to categorize, and burdened by the failure of their country’s any positive disposition towards oddity, Dread Astaire are indeed fascinating-and full of paradox. They crave to be heard; yet, they chose to launch their own Fuzzie label in order to record and distribute a series of vinyl releases, in an era dominated by i-Poddity. They nod to ambition; still, their ambition’s accomplishable through shitty rehearsal rooms and scrappy concert spaces. Indeed, Dread Astaire often admire each other too much to care about recognition. They respect no expressional boundaries, spanning blues, noise, punk, repetition, improvisation, straight-out rock’n’roll, and more. However difficult it is to give an accurate definition of their cultural location, we can clearly inscribe them in one importand genre: Fuzzbass. Fuzz is about surface, fuzzbass about depth. Fuzz about pleasure, fuzzbass about intensity. Fuzz about the spirituality of electricity, fuzzbass about reaching out to you. But are you gonna be there?

Honeydive

Historically significant Honeydive were among the founding bands of the Greek garage/rock n'roll scene, along with legendary bands like the Last Drive and Nightstalker. They were active between 1993-1995, while some years later, two of them (George Leitmer and Panos Tomaras) formed Engine-V, who move more into the stoner rock sound and still exist until today.

The Sound Explosion

The Sound Explosion is a legendary Greek garage rock band, which was formed in May 1991. They released several 7" singles and gave headline shows as well as supporting great bands, like Fuzztones, Dead Moon, Overcoat etc. In 1997 they took a long break until 2004, when they re-emerged and started to give shows again. Their current status is unknown.

The Invisible Surfers

The Invisible Surfers started out in 1994 in Athens, Greece by Alex Berekos who was also both the guitarist as well as the singer for the legendary rockabilly band, the Blue Jeans, who were active during 1984-1996. They started as a pleasurable recess, and, in the beginning, they were a Link Wray Tribute Band. After the dissolution of the Blue Jeans, all the creative juices were poured into the Invisible Surfers where they created their own songs (moving within instrumental surf rock) and had many followers which helped them make their presence in the lineup of many diverse and musically distinct artists (in comparison to their music) such as the Cramps, Marky Ramone, the Mysterians, the Fuzztones, Flaming Stars as well as Apollo 440 and the Supergrass.

The Mushrooms

The Mushrooms were a garage/rock n'roll band from Thessaloniki, Greece that lived and created in the mid-80's. During this time of their short life, the Mushrooms delivered two gems of albums that are included in the top moments of Greek rock n'roll ever. Asklipios Zampetas, guitarist, later joined the legendary Greek punk rockers Trypes, while vocalist Pluto was found dead in 2004 after a lethal drug overdose.

The Last Drive

The Last Drive are a Greek garage rock n'roll band (occasionally moving through surf and stoner rock among others through the years) formed back in 1983 with a long and remarkable history on their back , and they are considered by most the greatest and most important Greek band of the genre. They split up in 1995 but since 2007 they're back together giving incredible live shows all over Greece.

Nightstalker

Nightstalker are a legendary Greek stoner rock band (although they never accepted labels in music) and they always sounded like the ideal mixture of Monster Magnet and Kyuss, add to that a lot of personal touch and tons of original groove. They formed back in the early 90's and they have played live both in Greece and abroad giving powerful, energetic shows. They have toured Greece and appeared in various festivals, headlining or supporting local bands such as The Last Drive, Deus ex Machina as well as bands such as The Ramones.
