Union Carbide Productions was a Swedish rock band formed by Ebbot Lundberg (vocals), Patrik Caganis, Björn Olsson, Per Helm and Henrik Rylander in Gothenburg. Their music can be described as a fusion of psychedelic rock and punk rock — and a bit angrier and closer to stoner rock than the Soundtrack of Our Lives (the band that emerged from the ashes of Union Carbide Productions). Their influences were the Stooges, Frank Zappa, MC5, the Rolling Stones, Love, Black Flag and Minor Threat. With a background in Gothenburg's richer suburbs, the bands members built an image of lost and alienated yuppie kids on a hunt for kicks, somewhere in a fictive world between nothing to lose and manhood test. Among band's fans, Kurt Cobain, Dave Wyndorf, Sonic Youth, Foetus, Jon Spencer, and Jello Biafra can be mentioned. The name Union Carbide Productions originates from the company name Union Carbide Corporation that was written on a battery that Björn Olsson had, and that was involved in the Bhopal disaster in 1984.
Formed in May 2006 from the ashes of near legendary Nottingham Garage heroes the X-Rays and London punk ‘n’ rollers the Divine Brown, the Hip Priests are the inbred backward bastard sons of Iggy, Johnny T, Hank von Helvete, Lemmy, and Handsome Dick. The ‘Priests, as their already rabid UK disciples like to affectionately call them, are an awesome, gloriously tangled mess of Rampantly sexual, Souped up, Lubed up, Fucked up, High action, Hot Assed Anthemic Sweat Sodden Rock ‘n’ Roll. A sweet ‘n sweaty sonic tonic to accompany your recreational drinkin, druggin and fuckin’.
Black Panda is born as a fun project between members from bands such as Nashgul, Madame Germen, lascivos, SL’S3; five people who want to party at the rhythm of rock and roll, in a world of chaos where illegal bike races and drugs are the main attraction. The hardcore music, the heat and the power of the desert and its cactus, the pimpness and a great enthusiasm for motor and grease get together on December 2004. They begin composing songs and the dream of setting up their own car repair shop becomes true. While rehearsing, working in the car repair shop and going on with the apocalyptic weekend parties, Black Panda continues spreading their message and also recruiting members for their biker crew. You will also be part of it, when you least expect it.
